Elgin Traylor joined Spiracle Media in September of 2015. Prior to Spiracle, Elgin worked for an online racing news website, Speed51.com and helped launched their 51 Network with video content and live race feeds. Elgin spent seven years with 51 reporting on short track races and covering the lower levels of NASCAR.
Before his venture in the racing world, Elgin was an award winning photographer at WRDW News 12 Augusta, Georgia and covered the Masters three times. He also covered the breaking story of local hero Jame Brown’s death in 2006, which brought national attention to the city over the entertainers death and his family’s will.
Before Georgia, Elgin was at WVII-TV ABC 7 in Bangor, Maine. He worked his way up from a production assistant to a Sports Anchor before heading south. Elgin received awards in several categories while in Maine from both the Maine Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press.
Elgin attended the New England School of Communications where he acted as a Sports Information Director for the Women’s Basketball team for three seasons.
When not working, he spends time on the coast taking pictures of lighthouses with his wife Kimberly and son Davis.
